Thank you for sharing your experience. I also read that eating raw garlic is helpful. I am confused though by someone's suggestion to drink apple cider vinegar. One is generally suppose to avoid or minimize sugar and fermented foods. I did cut out balsamic vinegar which I love and replaced it with fresh lime juice for salad/steamed vegetable dressing. I remember a ND (naturopath) saying that lemon is OK for yeast patient during a recent talk at a health store. I prefer lime to lemon, but I could switch.
A few years ago I had a bad case of a cycle of yeast and bacterial infections. I believe it started when the stupid pharmacy changed my birthcontrol pills from ortho tri cyclin to trinessa. I had problems for at least a year non stop! It was the worst. My dr tried every kind of yeast treatment on me but all it did was give be a bacterial infection because the yeast was all gone, so when I was treated for the bacterial infection I got a yeast infection again. Any way, I even tried the tea tree suppositories and all that did was irritate my vagina. It got so bad that the skin on my vagina was raw most of the time. Well my absolute final treatment I could think of was putting a whole peeled garlic in my vagina at night then taking it out in the morning. I did this for 3 days and I felt better. I also took "AZO yeast" pills, which is suppose to prevent yeast infections, because I didn't want it to come back. But after the garlic treatment I got better! I was really sceptical about it at first and I only used it as a last resort.
