Will I need urethroplasty surgery again?

Alright so here is my situation. My doctor performed a urethroplasty surgery on me back in May 2012. He treated me for a 2 cm bulbar urethra stricture using an end to end repair of the urethra by stitching the 2 ends of the non-scarred portion of the urethra together.. He told me from the results that if I didn't have a problem within 6 months, I shouldn't have a problem at all. Well it's February 2014 and I notice my urine flow has drastically went down compared to what it once was. I'm urinating enough to a point where I generally speaking don't have discomfort, but I could tell that the stricture is back. The thing is the stricture I think is recurring behind my butt hole which might suggest to me that while it's recurring, it might be a much shorter stricture but nevertheless still present.  So my question is, does the location of the stricture play a part at all in determining if I would need another urethroplasty surgery again? Can a smaller stricture occur and be easily cured with an internal urechtomy surgery? I know every patient is different and it's tough to speak for anyone,  but what would say?

Hello,
To rule out any urethral stricture get an ultrasound, urethrogram and uroflowmetry done. If it is confirmed then you may need urethral dilators or urethroplasty.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

My answer is that you should make an appointment with your doctor.

When the doctor examines you, he will be able to tell you what course of action, if any, needs to be taken to correct your problem.

Best wishes.
