Hi,
One of the things that I have used myself a few times is a condom catheter and leg bags to collect the urine into.
As long as the penis and skin are healthy a condom catheter might be a good option.
From pads and incontinece underwear there is allways contact of the urnine to the rest of the pelvic skin involved. This can produce a rash as well as bad odur.
The condom catheter is applied to the penis and only the penile skin is in contact with urine. Urine from unexpected leakage is routed from the penis to the leg bag.
I myself prefer it over pads or other forms of incontenence cotrol items. A doctor should be able to determine if this is a good option.
God bless,
Ron
Thanks for your response. My dad lives in Ft Myers , FL. Do you know of a way to find a urologist who specializes in elderly incontinence problems? He has been to 2 urologists and they keep perscribing drugs that don't work. Essentially they are telling him to just live with it.
Again, thanks for your help
Hi,
Your father seems to suffer from Stress Incontinence. The incontinence which is associated with physical activities is classically described as stress incontinence. It can be treated with surgery, pelvic floor physiotherapy, and anti-incontinent devices. I’ll suggest you to please consult a urologist for the same and seek treatment.
I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted. Kind Regards.
