has anyone had these symptoms

I have had fevers for over a year. Chronic fatigue and rashes from the sun. Most of my bloodwork is normal and I am being treated by a rhuematologist. He thinks that I have a virus with PERHAPS an underlying auto-immune disease. He put me on prednisone for the past 6 months but it does nothing for the fevers. I only get fevers upon exertion. The doctor is saying that he has seen this before and it takes up to two years to go away but I am so weary. I have energy for a couple of hours a day, get a fever and then I'm in bed. It's unbelievable. IS there anyone with these symptoms and have they found any ways to deal with them.

Hi

I suggest you look at this link because you could be suffering from fibromyalgia. You should get your thyroid and blood sugar level tested if not done already. Alternative diagnosis to fibromyalgia like “myofascial pain syndrome (MPS), cFIDS (chronic fatigue immune dysfunction) and thyroid disease. Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) of unknown cause often co exists with fibromyalgia.” Refer: http://www.fibrofatiguerelief.com/extreme-fatigue-upon-exertion.htm

Thanks for your reply. I have had EVERY test imaginable. Gallium scans, CAT scans, MRI's, They ruled out endocarditis, TB, infectious diseases. I am so frustrated. I tested negative for mono and epstein-barr. My sed rate was high and I had a mild 1:80 ANA and was told that it was too low to say that I definitely have an auto-immune disease. All other bloods are normal. I have had to stop working and am home almost all day....

Hi

Thanks for writing.

Since you are being treated by a rheumatologist, I presume rheumatic fever has been ruled out. The other causes could be infectious mononucleosis (commonly called mono infection or glandular fever or EBV infection), tuberculosis, certain cancers and autoimmune diseases.

However it is difficult to diagnose without examining. You may also need to take some blood tests to rule out infection, TB, cancer etc to reach a diagnosis. So please consult your general physician. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else.
