What could be causing my muscle twitching and brain fog?

Back in 2010 I was out running in June when I suddenly got weak and had a rapid heart rate.  Felt like I was going to smack the ground. I went to bed that night and woke up the next morning and passed out. I eneded up having an ambulance ride to the hospital. They couldn't find anything wrong with me. I felt really spaced out after that and disconnected with reality.  I continued to have many issues that seemed to be neurological in nature.  I would just get odd feelings like something dripping down my spine or electrical sensations rotating through my body. The disconnect with reality feeling continued. During the following months I went to a neurologist and cardiologist.  They could not find anything specific wrong with me.  I have issues tolerating heat and feel like I'm going to pass out when I get heated at all.  I also go through spells where the muscles throughout my body twitch.  At one point when I tried walking it felt like my legs didn't want to work.  The left side of my body was also very weak in the past.  I went through very bad vertigo spells as well.  Though some symptoms  have subsided over the years others continue to go on.  I feel like I'm just going crazy. I have been to the doctors recently and they can't find anything abnormal in the tests they run.  I'm just really confused honestly.

Sounds like possible heat stroke/exhaustion . I know that some doctors don't like for you to "self diagnose" but it's worth mentioning. ERs are for emergencies and although a heat stroke is a true emergency, you waking up and passing out wouldn't give them the idea that it was heat stroke/exhaustion unless you forfeited the happenings of the prior day. Their job is to make sure you're not actively dying and you weren't, that time passed and you were stable other than probably being very dehydrated at that point. Dehydration usually accompanies any heat injury.  It's important to remember that doctors aren't psychics and need as much help and info as possible to diagnose correctly. Make sure you're passing that info on so they know where to look and what tests to do. Good luck!

If they can't find anything wrong, perhaps it is in your imagination from over-examining your body. It could also be panic attacks causing you to feel weak when you really are as strong as before.

I have heard that muscle twitching can be linked to low magnesium. So I started taking a supplement.  I also have been eating bananas and avocados. I just feel totally bogged down anymore.  I just wonder if I possibly had a heatstroke years ago and they didn't realize it where I ended up having to go to the hospital the next day.  The hospital in my town doesn't have a reputation of being the best.  I've tried changing my diet and everything to see if it will help.  Thanks for your reply.
It is best to take a blood test if you want to check your levels of magnesium, instead of just guessing. More people have problems from overdose of vitamins they didn't need than from lack of vitamins so the odds don't favor pumping up first.
