I have these symptoms/conditions: varicose veins, shortness of breath upon exertion, intermittent cold/clammy extremities, myoclonic epilepsy, headaches, larger than normal menstrual clotting, and dark menstrual blood and dark blood when drawn in tubes (of course, docs are never around when blood is drawn to see it). My most disturbing symptom is lightheadedness, which has been coming and going since October 2015 (a year ago), when I was forced to switch to birth control pills instead of the birth control patch (no longer profitable for the pharmacies to carry it, so I was forced to switch). At the same time of the switch to teh bcp was when the lightheadedness and dark menstrual blood & excess menstrual clots started and it hasn't changed since. I even switched to a different bcp (the first one I was switched to had iron in it and I thought this is what had caused the excess clotting & dark blood). Went to the doctor twice for this dizziness crap and he only tests my blood and says everything is normal.
I am being proactive now that I can't depend on docs, and wondering if my lightheadedness/dizziness is due to excessive clotting (no one seems to connect the dots but me). What test should be done to determine if excessive clotting is the cause of the lightheadedness - fibrinogen? homocysteine?
