Good post Drknee. Again, right on the money Two kisses and a hug.
The problem is this lives in the Alice-inWonderland land of the U.K., where the government still pledges allegience to a Queen (insane). You can't manage your medical care in the U.K. the way you do in the United States. Among other problems, she has exactly nine minutes allocated to her U.K. physician to examine he/she, and that's the name of that tune. Discussing these possibilities with a doctor in the U.K. system is like having a conversation with your pet goldfish.
The tests you recommended are standard at a local diagnostics center run by a friend of mine. I am not giving a referral. There are hundreds of these facilities in the United States.
Get a passport, sell the cat and the family silver, and come to America.
Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
I have written to you earlier. Since then I researched some more. What you need is a complete blood count, coagulation panel, comprehensive metabolic panel, allergy panel, antinuclear antibody, anti-centromere antibody, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, and rheumatoid factor done. The symptoms could be due to either endocrine problem or due to autoimmune disorders. Another possibility is fungal infection which can cause diffuse hair loss and eyebrow loss. Gynaecomastia can be endocrine origin or due to overweight. Liver diseases too cause hair loss and gynecomastia both.
Please discuss these possibilities with your doctor. Maybe then you can get a referral to an internal medicine specialist and for an endocrine specialist. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Your idea of an endochrine evaluation, with full panel, seems right on the money. The right train, the right station, the right conductor. The endochrine system is a signaling system (primarily through production of what are called polypeptides), and the symptoms you have suggest difficulty in this area. Probably an MRI scan too, which are free in many areas of the U.S.
Appointments with such specialists in the U.S. are easy to get and you can work something out with the payments. Airfares are down too.
In the U.S. there are also "diagnostic centers" which diagnose and evaluate, but do not treat. They will provide you with a full writtten report of their findings.
