I started having this problem after consuming calcium supplements. I took the supplements up to a point I started getting acne breakouts and rashes and I stopped immediately. Then I started having the same breakouts and rashes when I take high calcium foods. They subside when I take high phosphorus foods like meats. I read that calcium supplements can cause phosphorus deficiency. Please see: http://www.nutraingredients.com/Research/Calcium-supplements-should-contain-phosphorous-too-says-study
I have done blood tests and the results for calcium and phosphorus came back normal. But I read that blood calcium does not reflect dietary calcium. I realized that it is possible that high dietary calcium cannot be detected via blood testing according to Dr. Ronald Roth (from over 30 years of research):
"Intracellular and Serum levels of nutrients represent different physiological and pathological processes. Abnormal levels seen in one medium are not necessarily reflected in the other, so they need to be interpreted differently. For example:
High Serum Calcium = possible kidney or parathyroid disturbances, high Vitamin D intake, cancer...
High Cellular Calcium = excessive dietary intake of calcium or lack of calcium co-factors, low stomach acid...”
“Calcium requirements are another of many other examples that cannot be established through conventional or routine blood tests, so recommendations are also based on population averages or estimates, instead of individual requirements. This of course can have disastrous consequences for patients who either suffer from any number of disorders that prevent normal calcium absorption, or for those who suffer from a calcium overload.”

I have taken phosphorus supplement and it does help to reduce my rashes and acne.
I just want to know what options I can take. And is this due to excess calcium suppressing zinc which is an important skin mineral?
