NECK GLANDS Pain was started.
Gamma Glutamyl Transpeptidase (GGT) is more likely to be abnormal with cholestasis or alcohol use. Other causes are medications and hepatic congestion. Patients with fever and right upper quadrant pain frequently have cholecystitis although fever is not always present. Pain may radiate to right shoulder/back.
Cholecystitis is the medical term to describe inflammation of the gall bladder and usually caused by obstruction of the exit duct of the gallbladder. Ultrasound is first used when suspecting cholecystitis. Other testing includes HIDA scan and CT scans.
Hi there, thankyou for taking the time to respond,
yes i've been told i have inflammation in my body but i don't know where, i have been refered to have a CT scan but that takes 4-6 weeks call me impatient but i've had thid pain middle to low right side and under right ribs.
I am a non-drinker so i know it's not that, i have also been prescribed amitriptyline 25mg to take once at night, but i'm still waking in the night with pain, I wake with pain at silly o'clock (4-5am) when i normally have to wake at 6am for work/school(kids).. just worrying to me as i have 2 children to look after and the doc has signed me off work for 2 weeks,
I can't keep doing this as it's painful/irritating and disrupting me being able to work, I don't know what to do anymore, completely fed up tbh :/
what time of back ache is it, lower>?
what type of specialist have they refered you to?
normal calcium level is 2.2-2.6ish.
ESR shows there is inflammation in the body.
WBC is normal
GGT is a liver marker, its alsy raised with alcohol
theyv probably given you calcium because its borderline. unless theyv done other bloods that you dont know about. I wouldnt have thought the blood results are related to the back pain, unless you drink alcohol alot, i think it means theres something going on with the liver, butthats just my guess.
