RSD is Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy .... my daughter had it .. uncommon but extremely painful and needs to be treated ASAP when diagnosed.
I lost all my links when my PC crashed .. be wary of alot of the links online but do educate yourself and read the good ones out there .. RSD is a very real thing .. it has to do with the reflex sympathetic nerve pathways and they can go out of whack and not be able to turn off the pain .. can happen from a virus, minor injury, mj. injury, etc,. etc. I believe there is a link at the bottom of one of the Nat'l Arthritis Foundation's websites as sometimes people can get this after a bout of arthritis.
It is treated with aggressive physical therapy ... codeine doesn't even help the pain .. in severe cases spinal nerve blocks are put in place to ease the pain ... the body just does not regulate the pain properly and cannot turn it off. Swelling can accompany it as well as bluish tint to skin (mottled).
Hope this helps,
C~
PS Many do not even think of RSD .. we had a keen Rheumy and Orthopedist with my daughter and she is just fine now.
What RDS mean? Could you please explain this to me? Because English is my second language and i do not know what that mean.I am trying to find what cousing my leg pain. Thanks a lot.
They can do a ultrasound droppler to see if you have a blood clot, but with a blood clot usually I mean usually you cannot walk on your leg without extreme pain going upwards towards your groaning area. I would ask your doctor for this test..Have you heard or anyone heard of RDS I believe it is a nerve disorder.
