went into clinicaltrials.gov.All vaccine studies closed and i was out of the age group with the exception of one study and it is closed.I will keep a watch on this for further trials.
i will contact medhelp about being charged twice.i go back to gyno 12-17-07 and will ask about the possibility of Cervarix for me when it gets approved. just spoke to ashtad hotline man and he said i fell outside of age range for Cervarix and he doubted it would help much.Jury may be still out on that.Don't know why its being held up for approval in USA. so slow over here probably usual bureaucracy..... and i will contact clinicaltrials.gov.Thank You Grace..this website has been so helpful to me and so many!
If you were charged twice - contact the medhelp folks and let them know. They can take care of that for you!!!
You asked about cervarix on HHH's board - I'm not sure what is holding up its approval. Gardasil though already has approval. There is some info out there on getting vaccinated helps to speed the clearance of previously acquired hpv infections but not a lot. Since you don't fall within the fda's approved guidelines for hpv vaccination - you'll have to pay for it out of pocket at this point which should run a total of around $350 for all 3 shots depending what fee's your doctor's office tacks on. Have you checked out clinicaltrials.gov to see if any hpv research is going on near you?

Thank You for your response Grace.Last night I went to post and paid for HHH's board.Message came on that said his box filled and to post here. I've paid twice to post! Now I know how this works!I posted on his board again today. There is so much conflicting info. out there on re-infection/being reintroduced to another strain with condom use.I will know someone very well before sex again.Have learned so much about HPV.
First off - this isn't HHH's board.
I encourage you to check out the hpv board at www.ashastd.org under their std message boards. There is terrific info there and Fredo and the others will be better able to help you with your questions.
Your other option is to pay to post this on HHH's and Dr Hook's board here on medhelp.
If your partner puts a condom on when the clothes come off it's been shown in a recent study to reduce the transmission of hpv by 90%. Just one way to help protect you until you've been in a relationship with someone long enough to have more trust in them.

I have read many of your responses and they are most helpful in providing clear information about HPV.I don't regard sex as sport as many people do and am probably living on a different planet where i want monogomy and honesty. It seems that most men my age want younger women and multiple partners and with all the diseases out there this seems inane to me.I feel i have a right to know the sexual history of a potential partner as I would provide the same.If they balk and I feel their untruthful the door will hit them in the carcass!I find most humans lie about this..My LEEP surgery was not pleasant and I do not want to undergo another.I know that fear of HPV on cervix again should not control my life but it is realistic.Unless the male has warts he suffers no discomfort with HPV.Who ever said that life is fair?it sure isn't and we find that out as we age!
