My baby tubes are too big. Filled with fluids. But as a first time mom I'm freaking out about it. Cuz no one wants there child to be ill
Babies with vesicoureteral reflux are more prone to UTIs but doesn't necessarily mean she'll get one. Just be aware that in infants the most common sign of a UTI is unexplained fever. Make sure when shes a baby that if she gets a fever with no other symptoms that your pediatrician is aware of this history so they can check for a UTI sooner than later :-)
If it's vesicoureteral reflux that you ate talking about, its actually quite common. Most babies are completely fine with it and just require a urology follow up or two during the first few months of life. After baby is born they may recommend a VCUG, which is an imaging study to show the severity or urine back flow. After that the determination will be made ad to if surgery would be necessary.
Tubes not tunes* stupid new phone.
I actually had this happen to me when I was 6. When I was born my tunes were like pinched straws and as I got bigger they didn't and it caused one of my kidneys to blow up like a balloon and cause a lot of problems: horrible body odor, my hair falling out, constantly peeing on myself, and high fever a lot because I had a lot of toxins in my body leaking back out from my kidney. And when they figured it out they removed my kidney and I was fine. My other kidney started to do the same thing from being overloaded with double the work but was able to fix the tube before it really messed with my kidney itself. Even if she seems to be ok at birth I would just stay on getting her checked every couple months or every year because it nearly killed me and I didn't start to have any problems until around my 6th bday. Good luck and hope everything turns out good for your little girl!
I haven't, but I hope everything turns out well!
