Anyone else?

Is it crazy to be craving dirt while pregnant? First it was just for the feeling of it but now it's the taste of it..

I actually read about pica and if you haven't actually ate dirt you don't have pica. And have to be eating dirt for at least a month to be considered pica. But the doctors evaluate you for  mental retardation, develmental disabilities or OCD. Which having these disorders would cause you to eat odd things.

I would check with your doctor on why you crave dirt tho. Not that it's bad women crave weird things.. I would say it would be ok for me as long as I wasn't eating dirt.. or detergent lol

I think you're missing something in your diet. I want to say iron but I'm not sure. But as the woman above say it could be a thing called pica. I've never heard of it. But sometimes I don't crave but want to taste something grainy like detergent..

It's called pica, you really need to see your doctor for it.  I think it means you have some sort of mineral deficiency.
