Not unless you cook the turkey. Deli meats can carry listeriosis, even if you don't get sick it could still have an effect on the baby.
It's fine to eat. You don't have to heat it up but you can if you want.
April is right...heat it up first.
You don't have to heat it up...my doctor said you don't have to. Personal preference.
And my doctor said absolutely...why would you want to take the chance that the piece you eat has bad stuff on it that hurts your baby? Especially when you can do something as simple as use a microwave or eat a Panini?
I agree with baby_love. Its not harmful. Just try to stay away from caffeine if you can. Thats my preference.
Wow let's start an agreement in who is right or wrong. Maybe you should ask your own Dr since drs have different opinions. That way you feel more confident. I never ate it with my first cuz why risk the baby but I've eaten it twice this pregnancy and felt guilty doing it lol. It's just one of those controversial topics that you will absolutely get both sides on and not really get a clear answer.
And caffeine is another that some say it's fine and others say it's not. I drank it all the tone during my first pregnancy and this one and both babies are totally fine. It's just one of those moderation things.
All depends on your doctor...and you. I can't imagine heating up deli meat..yuck. doctor said it's fine. Unless deli meat is ALL you eat. I've had a coffee or latte every day of pregnancy. Once again, fine...Unless coffee is ALL you drink.
It basically comes to what u choose to risk. This is my third baby and never heard of not eating lunch meat til this pregnancy. I ate with last two and i have 2 healthy little boys. Now on internet or drs dont recommend due to listeriosis unless it heated up but again ive heard many still do eat it. I prefer not to just in case of risk to baby.
