2yr old w/roseola rash for 2 wks

My son went to the dr. last Wednesday and I was told that he had roseola.  I figured that was what he had, so that was no surprise.  They did take a throat culture and it came back negative for strep.  He has had moderate dry skin, especially on his face, ever since the rash started.  He had the rash 5 days before his appointment and he still has it.  It does not seem to be getting better.  Actually, in some spots it seems a little worse.  Behind his knees and on his cheeks are the worst.  Does anyone have any ideas what could be going on with him??
