any advice for me?

I just had my post-op with path results. The liter of fluid removed from my tumor contained mesothelioma something cells. The fluid was contained and the pocket opened wide where the tumor had walled itself off between ovary and colon. They say it was not of ovarian origin. (they believe) Although they say the cells were pre cancerous when I find anything with the word mesothelioma it states otherwise. Also I cannot find the name of my tumor anywhere. He called it a seroma. My surgeon assures me it is okay and we will do a follow up us and exam in three months.  Does this sound okay?  Guess i'm just really nervous as he was my fourth doc and if it wasn't for him it would never have been found as both tvus referred to it as scar tissue.
Sorry for rambling ladies just need some thoughts on this!!

Hi. I did put a call into my doctor. He called back after office hours can you believe it? Ok so here goes. Somehow the mesothelium fluid formed in this pocket and walled itself off. The fluid contained mesothelial cells which a few had bonded together and started to divide hence the abnormalcy. Not the doc's exact words.  He did take samples of surrounding tissue and they were benign.  The follow up will be to continue to monitor this site and of course a cyst on my ovary that he did not remove. He was wanting to open me up but didn't as they were having trouble with my bp and the iv. They had trouble with the iv from the moment it was put in. suzsen yours sounds exactly where mine was. My gyn's office had done both tvus and had dismissed it as scar tissue. When I asked the surgeon if this was where they said scar tissue he said yes also he said the location of this was pressing on a major nerve and definately was causing all my pain back, pelvic, leg etc. If you want to discuss further don't hesitate to email me at ***@****. Thanks both of you for replying was having a panic attack!! Hugs, Darlyn

PLEASE report back with what you find.

My cyst is between my ovaries but apparently not related to them. It's just above the vaginal cuff where my uterus used to be, but pressing against the rectum. The doctors and radiologists are stumped as to what it could be, they are also leaning toward inclusion cyst/scar tissue, but can't tell me why it would suddenly form 4 years after my hysto.

Last week I found out the cyst had shrunk from 5 cm to 1.3 cm, I was incredibly relieved.  Two gyn/oncs and my gyn said this was great, we cancelled surgery, and I'm having another ultrasound in a month.

Now I hear about your cyst and it sounds a lot like mine, except that mine shrank.

So PLEASE let me know what they say!  Thanks!

Ok I did find this:
What is Mesothelioma?

Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer where cancerous cells are found in the mesothelium.

Mesothelium is a membrane that covers and protects most of the internal organs of the body. It is composed of two layers of cells. The first layer surrounds the organ. The second layer forms a sac around the organ. The mesothelium produces a lubricating fluid that is released between these layers, allowing moving organs to glide easily against adjacent structures.

So I guess since the cells were within the fluid and not the actual membrane it's a good thing? Ok I got a list going to call the doctors office with so off I go.

I went on the web (Mayo Clinic).  Did your dr say seroma, or sarcoma?  I found a lot about soft-tissue sarcomas.  They are all cancers, but some are very low-grade, meaning they don't grow fast, maybe that's what he meant by pre-cancerous?

Please do not feel afraid to call your doctor and tell him that all of your questions were not fully answered.  If you think that something does not jive, then take your pathology report to another doctor.  I understand that this is the forth doctor that you have seen, but if it requires a fifth, so be it.  Your health is nothing to play around with.  I will continue to pray for you.  I hope you get the answers you need.  Kasie
