Lets hope so. I have scar belly button all the way down. In three years it has healed nicely. It is not raised or anything. No way could the lump on the outside be anything but superficial. If it is not infected it will be fine. Mine got infected lots of smelly puss. I cleaned it with Vetrocyn and animal wound cleaner three times a day. It cleared up in a few days.
It sounds like you have a good doctor. I never saw my surgeon after my pre op meeting. I had a nurse's aid take my staples out two weeks after surgery.
I am glad you had no real complications. That is great.

Hi Alex. I stayed in the hospital for 4 days and they removed the staples already before I left on the 4th day. I showered with staples on day 3 and I was amazed that the incision was healing well. The belly button stiches were only removed on my 2 week ff up though. I will continue to pray and hope that this bump/lump is just part of healing and nothing serious.
I had my 2 week ff up last feb17. Doctor examined my incisions (low bikini and belly button) and noted to be healing well. I reported the bump to him and he says it could be a small hematoma that we will just have to observe for now since most small ones disappear on its own. It just makes me sooo paranoid and scared that the lump might be a new cyst forming:( I will go for another ff up on march 6 and if he doesn't request for UTZ, I will for sure ask for it for my peace of mind. Thank you for the replies ladies.
Yes the gas pain was the worst part for me. You can always let your doctor know about the incision. 2 years after surgery my belly button had a hole and then a discharge. I think it was a stitch or something trying to work its way out. I would bring it up when you get your staples out. I nurses aide took my staples out so I had no one to ask questions Almost three years out the scar is not so bad. My incision was vertical. I had a nice stomach mow it looks like a sack of potatoes.

You are still early post-op. I am not sure what to think of the bump but it probably isn't anything serious. I did not have laparoscopic so no gas pains but I have heard they can be very painful! Please let us know what you find out at your appointment and I hope you are feeling better soon!
