OK, I am a 22 year old female that has been in the Army National Guard for 6 years now. I am currently in the process of being medically discharged, but have not been able to see an Orthopedist for about 2 years now. Only a normal sick call doctor who is pretty much a jerk, and now not even him anymore. (Having Tricare problems).
Anyway, my problems started in Basic Training 5 years ago, and to date, here is a list of my diagnoses:
Bilateral AC Joint Degeneration (minimal)
6 Lumbar Vertebrae with a pseudoarticulation and hemisacralization between L6-S1
Bilateral Snapping Hip Syndrome
Bilateral Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome
Positive OBERS (IT Band Syndrome)
Positive FABERS
Enthesopathy of Hip Region
Bilateral Trochanteric Bursitis
Bilateral Iliopsoas Bursitis
Bilateral partial tears of the gluteus medius and minimus tendons
Bilateral Patellar Tracking Disorder
Bilateral Chronic Shin Splints (Strain Anterior Tibialis)
(Plus more 'hot spots' on a bone scan and mri)
My main reason for the medical discharge is for my hip pain, the rest just followed. I have so far taken numerous NSAIDS, pain killers, physical therapy, rehabilitative therapy, ultrasound therapy, a steroid injection on one side of my hip and have had a consult for surgery - IT Band Release. My surgery was cancelled when my MRI results showed more problems. Shortly afterward, I moved out of state and have not been able to see an Orthopedist again.
Are all of these issues just injury-related? Or is there a more common cause for all of these? Some type of connection or something I suppose.. Also, are there any other treatments that can be done to help fix this? Or am I stuck being in pain forever.. :(
Thank you so much for any input.. :)
