brain cyst

The other day, my friend went to the hospital after having blurriness in one eye and a migraine.  The doctor took a cat scan and found a cyst on his brain.  Right now, we know very little about what is happening.  He is going to see a neurologist soon, but I am trying to determine how serious this is.  What could result because of this and how can doctors treat it? Is this common for a 21 year old?

Hi, I am 26 years old and have also been to many doctors, on many meds and also have a cyst on my brain but was told that doesn't cause headaches.  I suffer from bad mirgraines and have done many researches and found out it is my teeth and my jaws that is causing my headachs.  At night I clintch my jaw and in the morning the pain gradually turns into a headache then a migraine.  When you are stressed and sleeping it can add 250 pounds of pressure on your jaws.  I now have to get a NTI from my dentist that goes on 4 of my front teeth to help me realign my bite to fix my jaw that will stop the pain!  I hope it works for me and you should look into that too!  Good luck, hope this was helpful. Hi there, a lot of times you are born with a cyst. A cyst is simply a fluid filled sac that usually does not cause any problems. Was there any kind of head trama. Keep me posted and good luck.

hi,well that depends upon size, type and location of cyst.Age has nothing to do with it.

MRI with contrast agents can define its type. Some cysts don't cause much of symptoms but others if big in size or located at crucial areas in brain,do lead to focal neurological deficits.
