What happened is that 2 years ago I was put on "stelazine" but It triggered delirium like symptoms so i was taking off from it but what the medicine triggered never went away. It triggered severe confusion, very poor memory, difficulty concentrating, change in personality, and also it made me unable to sleep, It also triggered mood changes. I wanted to ask my doctor this but i wont be seeing her for a while so I decided to ask here before I ask my doctor.
Also whats weird is that I've been having this for 2 years now, and while i am severely confused I'm not to the point that I would talk to a tree, also I've been off stelazine. So please help
I also suffer from paranoid schizophrenia but it's not that bad due to the fact that my "delirium" causes my mind to make my symptoms work differently an example is that without anti antipsyciotics ill hear very little voices but my anxiety would go out of proportions and my memory would go bad. So please what do you think!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems. Stelazine is prescribed due to psychotic disorders like schizophrenia. So, if it was stopped, then some other medication should be started in its place. Your symptoms are probably a part of the psychotic disorder you suffer from. It is unlikely to be the side effect of medication, as any side effect of medication would stop soon after stopping the medication.
It is important to get a complete psychiatric assessment to evaluate what could be wrong. Also, get liver and kidney function assessed because at times rugs affect liver and kidney function and this can also cause confusion and delirium. Take care!
