Could it have been prevented?

I have suffered with migraine headaches for most of my life (my doctor says they are migraines others are not so sure).
from January this year i had a constant *migraine* (it is only ever just by the left temple)  for months I was given stronger and stronger medications that didnt seem to work. I was finally put on a preventative medication which seemed to help but after i was headache free for only 2 weeks I had a massive seizure (tonic clonic or grand mal) I have since seen neurologists and had eeg tests and a ct scan and blood tests to rule out a possible tumor and been put on sodium valproate. my question is had my doctor have sent me to see a neurologist in the first place would it have got this bad? I am also very confused about what will happen if it is a tumor.

Hi, this is hard to predict as you had only headaches with no focal neurological deficits which is usually seen in cases of space occupying lesion like tumor, cyst etc. But best approach now a days is to get MRI done before starting anti migraine drugs.
