2 years ago my mom went to the GYN for some light post meno spotting. The Dr. looked up the vagina and said the bleeding was not coming from the vagina, he said if it was, he would still be able to visualize it throught the scope, if the spotting occurred less than 48 hrs, which it did. He ordered a urinalysis.
He also ordered an ultrasound, whihc revelaed a very slight growth in the fibroid. SHe was referred to on onco, whihc did some test and referred her to a nephrologist. He didn't need her to come back.
1 year later she went back for her physical and the Doctor said her uterus felt fine upon palpation. Normal pap.
On occasion about once very three to four months she will have a lot of itching, a feeling up pressure in her labia, and during those days, she might spot a little. THose days, she itchess alot, feels pressure in the vaginal are as well as some burning upon urination from her vaginal opening.
No almost 32 years later she is scheduled for her yearly. I am alsways terrified thinking she has uterine leiomyosarcoma. She just had a chest x-ray and it was clear. Her blood test are normal aswell as a 15 lbs weght gain. That very slight increase in her fibrpid worried me, how can the popular well known onco-gyno not have worried about it. COuld it have been a dignostic error from the machine. The growth was extremely slight.
