Mine was in the iliac artery, and yes, I will be going back in to do the arteriogram. I fear having to have the bypass this time though. So, I have starting walking again and the pain has become easier to deal with. In fact, it is almost gone. Just haven't been able to pick up the pulse yet. The only complaint now is the pressure in the stomach area. After the stent 8 years ago, it was a booming pulse too. I am surprised they didn't find anything in the doppler or the arteriogram. The pain I expereince then and now is an incredible burning ache down the back of my leg and pressure in my stomach. The pressure this time is in the exact spot where the stent was placed, so my guess is that the stent has become plugged up. Keep me posted and take care, Ally
Thanks, are you going to do some tests to see if it is blocked again. I have pulses in my feet but the femoral pulses are very weak /intermittant . But I heard you can have normal ABI if the problem is in the iliac or aorta. I just dont understand why they cant see the problem ,if it is artery problem. My symptoms are so clear and I just want to be able to walk again.
An angiogram will show the blockage. In my case I didn't have any pulse in my foot. And my foot became numb. The artery was 100% blocked and had been for 2 years. The doctor had a hard time getting the stent in place because of the scar tissue that had built up. It took 4 hours. At one point he thought he would have to stop and do bypass. But he continued on and was finally able to place the stent. He couldn' believe I put up with the pain so long. I thought it was just arthritis or getting older. Trouble is I have the pain again, and again, the pulse is gone. The first time it was stented was over 8 years ago.
