Ejection Fraction

I just had an echocardiogram and the results are Left ventricular ef is 40-45% with septal wall hypokinesis.  Also Trace posterior pericardial effusion.
I would like to know in english what these two conditions mean and should I see out a cardiologist?
I have read a normal ef is 55 - 70%.  Would the drug Coreg help increase the ejection fraction?
Thank you in advance for your reply

yes, Coreg will help. Your EF isnt that bad. And the other word means that the heart isnt contracting as briskly as it should, Hypo meaning low, Kinesis is movement. Pericardal effusion means you have fluid around the heart that shouldnt be there. BUT, it said trace. If they arent doing about it then maybe they will keep an eye on it or do other tests, but I sure would ask!!!

Coreg is the med of choice for heart failure.  I am not sure what all the verbage means, but I would definitely make an appt with a cardio...
