I'd just watch it, I think they say 24 hours? I know I had the sore throat and it hurt to breathe in deeply for the whole day afterwards, it just felt sore all the way down to my stomach. Have to say wasn't as pleasent of an experiance as they set it up to be.
Yes, it really was a bigger thing than anyone let on. I certainly never want to do it again.
I too am experiencing a level 8 chest pain on a scale of 1-10. I had my endoscopy/colonoscopy this morning. I've not checked my temperature, but he took biopsies from my stomach, intestine and colon. He also removed at least one polyp. I have suffered with IBD for 10+ years so this is not my first or either of these procedures. However, the chest and upper abdominal pain is severe. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm certain I've passes the air that they inserted. I feel as if the pain in my chest is radiating thru to my back.Help!
I had an endoscopy last year and had an awful experience even though I had a throat spray, I gagged all the way through very badly and had excruciating pain under my right breast when the pipe was down, could this be when they took the biopsy? I developed Plurisy and pneumonia within 5 days, was hospitalised then off work for 7 weeks all because of hospital induced plurisy and pneumonia related to the endoscopy...I had no idea this could happen... a year on I still have pain under my breast where the plurisy too hold but the doctor can't find out what's now causing it because nothing shows on x rays or ct scan!!! I'm beside myself now as have no idea what next to do....I get pain and breathlessness and extremely tired...my life is not the same since and I hope to get sisters bug not have to have endoscopy ever again!!!!
