Failed IVF, period day 10 post transfer

I had light brown spotting that started 8dpt, and on 10dpt full flow dark red bleeding (period), my RE will not test until 14dpt so I have to continue with the progesterone suppositories...has anyone else had a failed IVF and started their period while still on progesterone?

I had done my first ivf due to unexplained infertility. 3 8-celled grade A embryos were transfered. Last thursday i had my blood test on 14th day after ET. beta hcg values is 21.34. My doctor told me to get it tested again on monday. Is the beta hcg value of 21 normal

Mamom15-Good luck w/ this cycle, I hope tweaking the meds will do it for you! You are a trooper to go right back @ it :)

vpp05-Do you have a f/u appt w/ your RE? I would ask why they think this round wasn't successful, what could be changed and if they think any further testing is needed...do you mind sharing why you had IVF?

Kibbles- Have you cycled again since, and had a BFP? If so how many cycles did it take?

AFM-I have a f/u appt w/ the RE on 7/17, and instead of jumping into another cycle immediately I want to see what she has to say 1st...I think I need some more testing done to investigate more into why @ 27 y/o my ovaries are functioning so poorly...Lots of luck to all of you girls ;)

hi,
I was reading your notes.  I just found out today that my pregnancy test is negative after our first ivf cycle.  I don't know what to do.  any suggestions.  We have tried iui 6 times before.  they retrived 9 eggs, only 4 fertilized, 1 excellent quality, 2 were ok.

Thanks

Enjoy your break.  I started on my next cycle.  I am a little worried it may be too soon but my RE thought it was fine.  So on BCP now.  My RN is very young and I don't think has too many answers but she is very noce and sounds genuinely involved and caring.  We had thephone consyult with my RE, he made slight changes tothe protocol.  Increased the bravelle dosage and will add estrogen after transfer so lets see how that goes.  I am so desperate to have a baby at this point I iwll do anything.  BTW, enjoy your vacatI am sure that will help.  we had planned on meeting some freinds in Maine, I have to deal with that now even tho not in the mood.  Happy 4th, have fun

Hey there, just checking in to see if you had any better news...I had my beta this am and got the call about the BFN around 2pm. The RN was not super helpful w/ answering ?'s (which is suprising b/c 90% of the RN's there are soooo wonderful) and basically told me to stop the progesterone and start birthcontrol again...when I tried to tell her that I wanted to wait until my f/u appt w/the RE she kind of tried to talk me into starting the bc (annoying and frustrating!!! ) :) Any way I'm glad to be stopping all of the hormones for a little while and am focusing my attention on the last min vacation me & DH decided to book for next weekend...we need the break ;) Best wishes to you.

looks like we were online at the same time.  I am 39 years so time is not on my side.  They retrieved 12 eggs of which 1 fertilized.  we had to do a rescue ICSI and 3 were transferred Grade A, Grade B and a grade C.  They are hinting that I had a miscarriage or it was ectopic.  I am not surprised I witnessed a very bad car accident on Saturday.  As I was in a car acident 5 years ago since then I have panic attacks after I witness accidents.  Of course this is all speculation.  I iwll share my results with you tomorrow.  Take care and hope your outcome is much betterthan mine

Our stories do sound the same, I'm so sorry you are going thru this too. My ER was 6/16, ET 6/19 and full flow started yesterday. I spoke w/ a RN @ my RE's office yesterday and she said there was nothing to do but continue the progesterone and wait for the beta results (I am scheduled for tomorrow am 7/1 @ 9:30). I had a bad cycle from the start (I'm 27 w/ stage IV endometriosis, premature ovarian aging and male factor, they only retrieved 5 eggs and only 1 fert. and was able to be transferred) So sadly I am not really shocked about my outcome :( I am interested to hear what they'll have to say about why we started our periods before stopping the progesterone...Best wishes to you, I hope you have a miracle and get a better outcome (thank you for sharing your story)

OUr stories sound the same.  We did our first IVF ER on 6/17 and ET on 6/20.  I had light spotting on 6/29 and full flow today - 6/30 so 10 dpt.  I am devastated and trying to come to terms.  I have left a VM for my RE for my next step.  I will share with you what happens.  I was not ready for this emotional roller coaster
