could this be ebv?

i have been posting in the hiv forum before now, almost 4 months ago i had an incident of unprotected sex with a man (i am female, 35) i started to feel unwell 3 weeks later, i have tested for hiv, hepatitis, syphilis up to 13 weeks, all negative and all stds negative.
2-3   weeks after the incident i started getting headaches, then fever and chills, my face was very flushed and red especially at night and my lymh nodes under my jaw were raised, i got a sore throat for only a 1-2 days nothing unbearable. i was prescribed an antibiotic for BV cant remember the name, i then broke out in a postule like rash on my back which stayed about 5-6 weeks. the doctor prescribed me another antibiotic for sinitis called doxyciline. i was also experiencing upper abdomen pain in the left and right sides expanding to my lower back. 4 months later and  I have still have a white coated tounge, weakness in my legs and upper arms, possible swollen lymh nodes behind knees and elbows, red rimmed eyes at night. After another week on amoxycilin i now have thrush again, still muscle weakness, swollen lymh node in the groin area, stiff neck, pressure in the ears, and get very tired during the day, plus ongoing abdomen pain.
i mentioned ebv to my doctor and he said if its that its just viral and will pass but did not do any test for it, i had a cbc all normal.
do any of these symptoms sound similar to ebv?

No one really knows why.  I guess it's like chicken pox and shingles, some adults gets shingles and most do not.  Some say stress, weak immune system, diet trigger it...  My diet didn't change, I'm not under stress, I'm fairly healthy, go to the gym 3 times a week, do 40 mins of cardio until this hit me in May.  I still make it to the gym, just not as many days due to fatigue.  I've had mostly bad days, but lately starting to have some good days where I feel ok.  But I'm sure part of that has to do with the meds I'm taking to help with the symptoms.  I'm on a steroid and stimulant to keep me awake.

Like you, I suffer from allergies and when it started I thought they were just really really bad allergies but after week 3 I said no more, so I got it checked out.  I had no idea about EBV, but when I saw my Dr. he said it could be possible EBV reactivation, so he tested me and sure enough that was it.  He said he had never seen levels that high and he usually see's 2 or 3 patients a year with EBV reactivation.

Since I found out what it is, I started eating a lot healthier, taking a daily multivitamin and drinking lots of water.

My Dr. wants to see me back in early July to see where my levels come out.

But yup, this feeling is horrible and it makes me feel a little helpless since I can't do much to stop it.  It's not my norm at all and I think some people think I'm being a drama queen when I tell them how I feel.  But if I was in their shoes and not have gone thru this, I would probably think the same if the tables were turned.  My lesson, don't judge how someone feels.  :)

Why does it effect some people so bad and others not at all? Does it point towards a weakened immune system? Also I feel my sinus infection returning after only taking antibiotics to clear it 1 month ago, I feel the pain behind my eyes and nose, cheek bones and top teeth. Is sinus problems common in ebv or no? Thanks for all the info

I was concerned about spreading it since when there is a reactivation it is contagious. I have a 6 year daughter I am around a lot of the time so I read up.  Ends up that over 90% percent  of adults already have been exposed to it and 40-50% of 5 years olds. So chanches are most already have it and for a lot it wasn't a big deal for them and they never knew they caught it.

see i ask about nationality cuz this virus is spared in Americans and Asians

any how doctors always not know enough about ebv first exposure in adults as in young and teens its with no sympoths or last for 2 weeks
in adult more than 25 it can last for months or years .

they have to put you in accolivor :valterx" for decrease virus load and aa lot of vitimians a , b12 , c, d , micanisum

we have a group for ebv suffer to help each other if u like to join

Thanks for the answer
I have not had a confirmed diagnosis yet but from everything I have read it seems possible. Every1 just thinks it is in my head, it is so hard to explain how I feel every day. I wake every day the first thing my neco is stiff my lymh nodes hurt in that area, I then feel totally not connected for at least 30 millions minutes. I'm then tired only 1 hour after waking! It is realy getting me down. I will try to get a diagnosis this week!
quick question if I have this am I always infectious to others? Can I not kiss anyone or even sleep with them?

I've had no luck with many dr.'s in the past, they are too much in a rush and/or their staff is horrible.  I finally found an Internal Medicine Dr. and was happy for years..no long waits, not in a big rush, takes time to listen and then this year he went to a concierge model...so I paid the fee.  I know it's hard to find a good one that listens.

I can't concentrate at all right now, it's been that way with me since the first week of May and I'm dying of fatigue right now, even with prescribed stimulants.  I had a second round of blood work done this week and my EBV is still showing up as reactivated.

Any Dr. should be able to order blood work.  I would recommend finding a good Internal Medicine Dr. since you are 35.  Read google reviews or reviews by other websites and hopefully you will find a decent one that listens.

I have many symptoms you have: fatigue, swollen lymph nodes, over all feeling horrible, joints are somewhat achy, a light runny nose and light sore throat every once in a while.  I don't have a fever, but I do feel feverish at times, but no temp, and I get night sweats.

I agree I don't know why nationality matters. Is it a certain type of doctor that needs to test for this? My own Doctor did not pay much attention to me when I asked him. I've been having some brain fog also, bit spaced out especially in the mornings and fatigued when I've only woken from sleep

I have no clue why nationality of a person has to do with her symptoms since viruses don't care about what nationality one is, but it sounds like it could possibly be ebv.  You should also consider getting another Dr. and getting an full blood panel ran along with testing for EBV.

It's true if it is EBV, there is not much they can do to cure it and only time may cause it to go back into the dormant stage.  Either way I would want to know for sure, so please get tested.

yes , i think all symptoms .
because of ebv , and as its a viral infection putting on antibiotics specially include pencilin like doxycline which has make the rash .
ebv is a damn virus and it attacks all the body .
with its ugly face and i think its transmitted to you through saliva
symptoms : sore throat , low grade fever , swollen lymph nodes , body aches and it can last for months .
you have to test for ebv as this seems to be mono and its your first exposure to it , what the nationality of the man you exposure with will clear the things out
