What are the symptoms of an injured eardrum?

I agree, pain with an acute injury is going to be present.

Otherwise, hearing loss, ringing (or other sounds), drainage can occur.  Many people with injured ear drums (at least after the acute phase) have no symptoms at all.

Injured? Like, from an external object inserted into the ear?  If so, intense pain would be one...
