If anyone can help, here is the situation. I woke up with a very mild sore throat on Saturday with no other symptoms. Sunday the sore throat was much, much worse when I woke up, but I still had no other symptoms other than a very red throat. I visited the doctor yesterday and she prescribed me Augmentin, stating that I had a throat infection. Today however, I noticed that I had very small white spots, visually very similar to tiny canker sores, spread across the back of the throat, tonsils, and on my uvula. I can count probably 15 or so, but as stated before, they are barely bigger than grains of sand. These appeared after my doctors appointment so I'm forced to ask here instead. Could anyone tell me what they might be? Additionally, I do now have a mild cough (mostly from the scratchy throat), and very, very slight congestion (could be unrelated). Any help would be very, very much appreciated. I just don't want it to be an STD or anything like that.
