I hope this helps even two months later. I had molluscum contagiosum 5 years ago, and I freaked. On the bright side, they did not hurt, and there were not many of them (2 at the time). The cryo treatment does work because the virus only lives within the sores. BUT... It is painful and will leave a faded colored scar - almost like a birthmark type color. Acid, also, should cause this. Think about it: the acid is literally burning your skin.
You can take my advice with a grain of salt if you still have a sore or two: I got fed up with going to the doctor and realized, OK, if the virus only lives within the sore, this can be easily taken care of. I took a sterile needle, sterilized the area with the sore, pricked the sore, and applied alcohol/iodine to the sore. I have not had one in 5 years (after I did this treatment to myself). I hope this helps and hope you don't even have to do this!
