Ear problems

Hi,
For about 2 months now I have had a problem with my right ear. The space where the ear lobe connects and hangs down has been hurting. It almost looks like part of it has become disconnected but I don't know how that can be. I know I shouldn't pick at it but when I do clear liquid comes out. It's almost like what comes out of a blister when it pops. Afterwards it turns crusty and it hurts to move the ear lobe. It hurts no matter what. It is really red as well. I just want to know what's going on with it.
Another problem I have had is where my ears are pierced. I haven't really been able to wear earrings for 5 months. I have tried all kinds and they all hurt my ears. They get really red and swollen.
If anyone has any ideas of what's going on please tell me. Thanks.

Thank you for your help. I'm putting polysporin on it for now to see if it will get better. I have taken pictures of it because it is small and so my mom could see it easier.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
For your symptoms bacterial and fungal infection should be ruled out. Since the rash is persisting, so it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist and get a KOH examination of the skin scrapings done to confirm fungal infection. Treatment consists of topical antifungal cream which may contain miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
