Oh Opus!
I am so sorry to hear this about your darling Nemo. It seems very strange for him to just stop eating and his blood work be normal.
You have probably have gotten dozens of suggestions for food, so I am going to add just One....and it is a GOOD ONE!
I just open the package and Meezy can smell it from another room and comes meowing into the kitchen. I have never seen anything like it. It also has replaced her dry food.
Stella & Chewy's Heavenly Tuna and Herring--it is dehydrated raw fish, and SMELLEEEE...UGH! I know, but then we are not cat's!
It was developed just for the purpose of helping her cat who was severely sick and not eating. I think it comes in other flavors. It has directions on the package for re-hydrating it.
I have to get it at the Holistic Pet store, so if you cannot find it go on-line.
If you would like it faster I can air mail you some to try!
Let me know. Ask no further , you have my many prayers for both you and Nemo! Please keep us posted--the forum moderators will take care of the forum, so you can take care of the home front.
Sincerely ,
CML
Sending hugs and prayers to you and Nemo! I know how stressful this is when you are trying everything in your power to get them to eat.
Could he be constipated again? My cat used to lose her appetite when she was blocked up. And, as soon as she went, she was back to eating again.
If there's anything I can do, please let me know, sweetie.
Hugs and Love

Hi Opus,
Just thinking of you and Nemo...and praying for Nemo to feel better over the weekend, until he can be seen on Monday.
Be sure to keep us posted.

Praying for Nemo and you ...Take care!
Will lift a Horn to the Holy as I know it on Nemo's behalf (and yours). Best of luck finding what's wrong so you can help him.
I'm so sorry that you are going through this with your little buddy. I see this is from a few days ago, so I'm not sure if there are new developments. Keep us posted, and we'll keep you in our thoughts!
Add my prayers and well wishes for Nemo. Hope he's doing better!
thanks so much everyone for the wishes and prayers.....it worked!!!
had to assist feed Nemo for over a week..it was exhausting and stressful for both of us but he was a trooper and didn't resist, just liked to hide from mommy...:(
with the help of a B12 shot and an appetite stimulant he began to get interested in food again on Friday, started taking small bites...so on Sat I stopped the assist feeds and cooked him up some chicken in broth...he ATE IT ON HIS OWN, I was so thrilled...I cried, he is still eating this..refuses his regular diet but we are working on that!!! I give him some supplements that the chicken is lacking via syringe
he got his chest x-ray today....his heart is not enlarged, however our Vet still thinks it could be another form of cardiomyopathy..'restricted' where the heart isn't enlarged but its not pumping properly, he has no other symptoms other than lack of appetite and high heart rate. so for now we just watch and pray that he keeps eating.
CML...thanks for the food suggestions...actually my other boy Sami is on the Stella and Chewy's diet and loves it
Nemo has always been a challenge, since I got him as a kitten over 10 years ago...he would eat only ONE brand of dry food and believe me I tried everything on the market...he refused everything...as he got a bit older and began having issues with FLUTD I had to get him off dry food, so than again the hunt...and every single commercial food on the market was tried and tried again...NO way, nothing commercial period!!!!
he would sniff it and walk away, so theres some ingredient in these foods that he can detect and is very resistant too...my Vet says he's never seen the likes of it, he is what they call highly sensitive.
but he's always loved human meat, so the hunt began for a recipe that he would eat...plus adding in the supplements he needs to make it nutritional for him, but I had to add them slowly and one at a time...this was a 4 month process back a few years ago. now we have a recipe of either pork or chicken plus the supplements and he has been eating this well until recently. now he wants only chicken in broth so I have to give him his supplements via syringe until he starts eating his jarred stuff again....but I don't care right now, at least he's interested in food again and I PRAY HE KEEPS GOING!!!
That's wonderful news! It made my day!! I hope he continues to eat on his own!
What a relief. Now you need to get some rest......and maybe someone to feed and pamper YOU! LOL!
