Allergic reaction

I am a 62 year old female and I have just started having almost an asthma like reaction when I cut up hot peppers. I was cutting up just a pablano pepper today and almost from the first cut I started coughing and having a little trouble breathing. Why has this just started and is it dangerous?

Hello,
A person's allergies can change every 5 years. I would have an allergist run some tests to see what you are allergic too, you may have developed an allergy/intolerance to peppers, etc.

People develop allergies to things that they have never had any problem with. Just don't cut peppers.
